One of the highlights of the season at Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm is a visit from Santa Claus himself! We are delighted to host Santa at the farm on select days each holiday season, much to the excitement of kids and adults alike. Imagine your child’s face lighting up as they spot Santa arriving, jingling bells and all, against the backdrop of a mountain of Christmas trees. Dressed in his classic red suit and a smile as warm as fresh gingerbread, Santa loves greeting families here. It’s not every day you get to meet Santa on a Christmas tree farm, and the experience truly feels like a scene from a holiday storybook – complete with the smell of Fraser fir and maybe a hint of peppermint in the air.

A Family Friendly Magical Experience
Festive Fun with Saint Nick
When Santa’s on the farm, we pull out all the stops to make it a festive celebration. You’ll find a special area decorated just for Santa’s visits – think twinkling lights, candy cane stripes, and a big throne-like chair for the jolly old elf to sit in. Kids (and kids at heart) can line up to have a personal chat with Santa. Feel free to share your Christmas wish list or just giggle at his cheerful “Ho ho ho!”
Parents, this is a perfect time to snap a priceless photo of your little ones whispering to Santa or grinning ear to ear. The atmosphere is warm and lighthearted, with Christmas carols playing and the aroma of hot cocoa in the air. By the time you leave, you’ll definitely feel that holiday magic has touched your family.

Choose & Cut Your Perfect Tree
We offer an authentic choose-and-cut Christmas tree experience that delights visitors of all ages. You select the tree that calls out to you from our carefully groomed fields – whether it’s a tall, towering beauty or a petite fir for a cozy nook. Once you’ve made your choice, our friendly staff will gladly cut it down, bale it for easy transport, and even secure it to your vehicle for you. (Feeling adventurous? You can also borrow one of our saws and cut your tree yourself!) This hands-on tradition has been part of our farm since 1999, and some of our very first plantings are still growing strong over 25 years later. We take pride in offering fresh, premium Fraser firs that will grace your home with beauty and fragrance all season long.
Don’t forget to bring your camera or smartphone to capture these precious moments! Visiting Santa at Boyd Mountain is a memory you and your children will treasure for years.

A Tradition of Joy and Giving
Having Santa visit the farm has become a cherished tradition here, one we look forward to as much as our guests do. Some families have been coming every year, watching their children grow with Santa through photos each season. Santa himself says our farm is one of his favorite stops, because he gets to see the true spirit of Christmas in the smiles, laughter, and goodwill all around. In the spirit of giving, we also use Santa’s visits as an opportunity to give back – we often partner with local charities or host toy drives during Santa’s events. If you’re able, consider bringing a canned good or a toy donation when you come to see Santa; together we can spread the Christmas joy to those in need in our community. At Boyd Mountain Christmas Tree Farm, Santa’s visits are about more than a fun photo-op – they embody the love, generosity, and togetherness that make this season so special.
Santa’s Schedule & Special Appearances
Santa is a busy guy this time of year, so he can’t be here every day – but he makes time to come to Boyd Mountain on our busiest weekends to spread cheer. Typically, Santa visits the weekend before Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving weekend. (weather and reindeer permitting!). For example, in past years he’s been here on the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday right after Thanksgiving, as well as the previous Saturday and Sunday. Hours: Santa usually sets up his chair by late morning (around 9:00 AM) and stays until about 5:00 PM, giving him time to meet as many children as possible. We’ll post the exact dates and times each season on our website and Facebook page, so you can plan your visit when Santa at the Farm is happening. There’s nothing more magical than choosing your tree and meeting Santa all in one trip! (Hot tip: come early, as lines to see Santa can form during peak times.)
